Rene Urteaga is the President and Founder of RUWellness. He has been involved in health and wellness initiatives for over a decade, consulting predominately in health education, health promotion, and exercise prescription. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Graduate degree in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania with honors. In addition to having an educational background in health and wellness; Rene is a graduate of the MBA program at Texas Women's University Business School.
A committed member of the health community, Rene supports local and national wellness initiatives. He is an advocate and supporter of obesity and diabetes prevention initiatives. Rene is also a supporter of Healthy People 2020 which challenges individuals, communities, and professionals, to take steps to ensure that good health is enjoyed by all.
Melinda Torres is our Marketing Manager for RUWellness. She brings 15 years of experience in Marketing, Management, Customer Service and Training to RUWellness. She has worked primarily in the healthcare field as a Marketing /Community Relations Director. Melinda holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Texas at San Antonio, as well as an MBA from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Melinda plans to integrate her passion for supporting community programs with RUWellness community and national initiatives to Restore Health to America, mind, body, and spirit.
Dr. Montfort is our Chief Clinical Officer and is an Assistant Professor at Feik School of Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at The University of the Incarnate Word.
Dr. Montfort received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 2002. She then graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2006. She continued her training and completed a Specialty residency in Primary Care at the Providence, Rhode Island Veterans Affairs Medical Center followed by a PGY2 residency in Primary Care at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, Texas. Her areas of interest include dyslipidemia and diabetes.
Dr. Nieto attended Parker College of Chiropractic and graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2005. Post-graduate studies emphasize extremities and common patterns associated with global postural distortions.
Dr. Nieto holds multiple black belts in Ninjutsu and Aikido with extensive training in Mui Tai Kickboxing, Jiu-jitsu, boxing and wrestling. Drawing from his experiences as a professional cage fighter, Dr. Nieto specializes in musculoskeletal and biomechanical disorders often present in athletes and the fitness oriented population.
Dr. Nieto is married and has 2 daughters and 1 son. He enjoys working with patients to advance their health through interactive treatments and lifestyle changing goals. He shows great respect for health, wellness and preventive maintenance with Chiropractic care. Proper programs of weight loss, exercise and nutritional consults are a major co-factor for ultimate improvement for all his patients.
